Introduction of  Earthing

The connection between electrical appliances and device with earth plate or electrode through a thick wire of low resistance to provide a safety is know as Earthing or Grounding.

Type of Earthing and cost  practice in Nepal

1. plate type Earthing

      
 copper plate is buried 8ft into the ground with bolts in a vertical position. These pits generally filled with layers of salt and charcoal up to 4 feet starting from the bottom. Then cover with soil.

It is costly than other about 10000. Lift span is more than 20 year

    2. Rod Earthing

This type of earthing is same as pipe earthing. If you are using copper rod, make sure the diameter of the rod in 12.5 meter and if you want to use galvanized lron rod then diameter shuld be of 25mmThe lenth of the rod should be approxmately 2.5meter(8.2ft) which will be buried into earth vertically.

It cost low about 4000 and life span is also low about 5-8 year
